Wing Gundam Zero - Part 2
Otaku Collection August 7th, 2008Ouch! I took too long to settle my Wing Zero model kit. I was taking my sweet time there to finish it. And finally it’s here. Well, I was struggling whether to post only photos, or do I include a video clip as well. In the end, I decided to go for both, since some features of this gigantic robot needs a video to clearly show it.
This is a continuation of: Wing Gundam Zero - Part 1
This is the final completed version of Wing Zero. He stands at about 30cm tall. Details are very good, but of course one should not expect something from those of Perfect Grade kits. The making part is quite easy. The manual is in Japanese, but the diagram is already very self-explainatory so one will not really get lost in building their Wing Zero. Caution need to be placed on cutting the parts out though. There isn’t really any spare parts include. One wrong mistake in cutting, and it’s gone. All the plastic kits are pre-molded with colour according to the real Wing Zero. No painting is neccessary at all, however pros actually do paint their gundams to make it more realistic. All parts are snap-ons meaning no glue is neccessary also. Sanding is optional but can make the parts fit better and clear off any manufacturing defects on the plastic kits. All in all, the only thing you need to assemble your own Wing Zero, is just a pair of cutters.
The effect can be further enhanced by using oil based gundam markers to add some of those weather/special effects to it. But I had no time for those yet. The top and front part of Wing Zero has got tonnes of special features. From machine guns, to beam lights, to shoulder compartments. You shall see more of that from the video clip below. And Wing Zero can actually transform into a space craft, kinda neat don’t you think?
And here comes the video clip. Sorry that there is no voice inside. I guess I am still too shy to include my not-so-sweet-voice. This is my very first video clip review after all. Perhaps next time. Oh ya, I do need to mention the wing mechanism of Wing Zero is very good. You don’t need to take it all out to switch position, like in the 1/144 kit. It opens and closes very naturally. And there is a piece of battery inside Wing Zero’s body, to light up the front chest part. The fingers are also movable, making it really realistic. I wonder how the Perfect Grades will be? Even more detailed?
Wing Zero is simply a gorgeous Gundam. I have absolutely no regret of buying this kit. It may take some effort and time to assemble it, but the end result is fantastic. If there’s a request, I may as well do a video review for the transformation process. Until next time!

Dude, can’t wait to see it fully painted. That’s pretty sweet. I had fun making my own little Stargazer. Glad you had fun with your kit too!

I always wanted a Wing Zero because it’s sweet. Though right now I had to save money for Ryougi Shiki figure, I’d give my virginity for that! D:
