News: Seena Kanon Max Factory Ver

Finally! More Shining Wind figures from Max Factory. It had been quite sometime since they release their highly-popular Kureha. Now they are coming out with Seena Kanon! From what I can see, the figure shall be based on the illustration which can be seen in the next page. This shall be a highly-anticipated one.

Shining Wind’s official figure blog brings to us the prototype uncoloured version of the upcoming Ryuna figure from Kotobukiya. I will prefer to look at the final coloured version before making any judgements. ^^

Preview: Xecty S.O.F.T Wave Ver

Another Shining Wind figure coming out soon in the market. This one features Xecty from Shining Wind. This figure will come in three form: Normal edition, Limited edition (same as normal edition but with an extra telephone card. Only usable in Japan) and a Miyazawa limited edition (with alternate pink colour). This Xecty has soft plastic body and cast-off-able. Also, she comes with two different heads. The Miyazawa limited edition shall only has 500 units produced. She shall be out in September 2008 at 5800 (Normal and Miyazawa Limited Edition) and 6800 yen (Limited Edition). Which one will you get? ^^

Verdict: Not sure. Maybe getting the Miyazawa Ver.

News: Ryuna Kotobukiya Ver.

There are news and a prototype photo (just a back shot teaser) out in Shining Series Figure Blog on a possible Ryuna figure by Kotobukiya. From the website also, Ryuna seems to be the 9th of a 12-figure list. More Shining Wind figures coming?

Preview: Blanc Neige Kotobukiya Shining Wind Ver.

Finally, Blanc Neige in her Shining Wind outfit. The previous Neige from Kotobukiya was from the Shining Tears universe. So far, the Shining Tears/Wind figures I have are only Max Factory’s Kureha and their swimsuit figures. The others I skipped since I feel they do not really accurately capture the elegance and beauty of Tony’s characters. But for this Neige from Kotobukiya, I think I will get her. I just love Neige in this outfit. She will be out in Sept 2008 for 5800 yen.

Verdict: MINE!

P/s: The super hot weather is really making people nuts. Can’t really pull myself together to do anything during the weekends. It’s a miracle I did not get sick despite feeling like living in a desert. I sure hope there will be an end to this global warming issue. Let’s save our Mother Earth!

This figure come at no surprise since Kotobukiya had released almost all of the characters from Shining Wind. It is just a matter of time. This Mao had the new costume from Shining Wind. Her short skirt is really captivating. Detail looks good. Her outer jacket can be remove. But other than that, I can’t see any outstanding features in her, definitely not her face. It seems rather.. bland. So she won’t be mine. Mao will be released in July 2008 with a street price of 5500 yen. Quite cheap don’t you think, in recent times of figure price hike.

Verdict: NOT MINE!

If you talk about Shining Wind/Tears figures, you will know Kotobukiya since they have got almost the entire line of figures for those series. The latest one in the line is Elwing, dubbed the “Wind Edition”

The prototype photo has came out quite some time ago. But this is the first coloured promo photo that I have seen. She looks great. But I still prefer the Max Factory’s swimsuit version ^^

Shining Wind Figure Collection 2 Gashapon

Got my Shining Wind gashapons today. It consists of 4 gashapon figures. The retail factory packed box contains 8 randomly selected figures, with any combination from 4 normal, 4 special and 1 mystery figures. Since I got mine for half the retail price and guaranteed of 4 different figures, so no complains.

The usual little piece of catalog that comes with gashapons/trading figures.

First off, Kureha!

Next, Seena Kanon..

After assembly.. looks good..

Next in the line, Xecty..

Woot woot.. pretty!

Last one, Reia Hiruda.. The mermaid

^^ she’s not naked.. Cant see anything even from close proximity

One thing I don’t like about gashapons is that the thing is so tiny that one small force and it’s gone. For Xecty, you actually need to assemble the chair and I accidentally applied too much force and two of the notches broke!

The detail seems ok, can’t expect much from gashapons. And all the joints of these gashapons seem quite loose.. No matter how I tried to push it back in.

All in all, unless you absolutely need to have small figures for display somewhere, I would suggest to get scaled figures instead. For the extra details and extra size and of course extra hole in the wallet

Kureha

The most anticipated figure in 2007! Kureha is from the Shining Wind series.. Got mine rather late as was busy traveling at that time..

Since Kureha has already gotten quite some coverage, pls forgive me for not taking any photos of her.. I shall focus instead on figures which has less attention and more in need of love.. (muahaha).. unless I suddenly change my mind later..

Seena Kanon [Dropped!]

Again.. another one pre-ordered.. Well, even though I post all at once, it doesn’t mean all of them will be coming at the same time.I only got like that fixed amount of allocation for figures per month, so even though the figures seems a lot, but it won’t exceed tat allocated budget for that month since the release months are different..

Anyway, only selected figures will go into my book.. So this one is of course.. cantik!

No pics will be posted for now.. Will only update when it arrives..

UPDATE: Decided to drop this in favour of Alicia Florence..
