Otaku’s Hideout

Another Shining Wind figure coming out soon in the market. This one features Xecty from Shining Wind. This figure will come in three form: Normal edition, Limited edition (same as normal edition but with an extra telephone card. Only usable in Japan) and a Miyazawa limited edition (with alternate pink colour). This Xecty has soft plastic body and cast-off-able. Also, she comes with two different heads. The Miyazawa limited edition shall only has 500 units produced. She shall be out in September 2008 at 5800 (Normal and Miyazawa Limited Edition) and 6800 yen (Limited Edition). Which one will you get? ^^

Verdict: Not sure. Maybe getting the Miyazawa Ver.

Finally, Blanc Neige in her Shining Wind outfit. The previous Neige from Kotobukiya was from the Shining Tears universe. So far, the Shining Tears/Wind figures I have are only Max Factory’s Kureha and their swimsuit figures. The others I skipped since I feel they do not really accurately capture the elegance and beauty of Tony’s characters. But for this Neige from Kotobukiya, I think I will get her. I just love Neige in this outfit. She will be out in Sept 2008 for 5800 yen.

Verdict: MINE!

P/s: The super hot weather is really making people nuts. Can’t really pull myself together to do anything during the weekends. It’s a miracle I did not get sick despite feeling like living in a desert. I sure hope there will be an end to this global warming issue. Let’s save our Mother Earth!

This figure come at no surprise since Kotobukiya had released almost all of the characters from Shining Wind. It is just a matter of time. This Mao had the new costume from Shining Wind. Her short skirt is really captivating. Detail looks good. Her outer jacket can be remove. But other than that, I can’t see any outstanding features in her, definitely not her face. It seems rather.. bland. So she won’t be mine. Mao will be released in July 2008 with a street price of 5500 yen. Quite cheap don’t you think, in recent times of figure price hike.

Verdict: NOT MINE!

If you talk about Shining Wind/Tears figures, you will know Kotobukiya since they have got almost the entire line of figures for those series. The latest one in the line is Elwing, dubbed the “Wind Edition”

The prototype photo has came out quite some time ago. But this is the first coloured promo photo that I have seen. She looks great. But I still prefer the Max Factory’s swimsuit version ^^

Got my Shining Wind gashapons today. It consists of 4 gashapon figures. The retail factory packed box contains 8 randomly selected figures, with any combination from 4 normal, 4 special and 1 mystery figures. Since I got mine for half the retail price and guaranteed of 4 different figures, so no complains.
