Not much figures to report lately. The latest addition to my collection is none other than the main subject today, Tsukishiro Miina. Got mine from a local store and quite satisfied with her.

One of the main characteristics about her that caught my eyes was her sweet and innocent look.

Overall quality is pretty good. No flaws that I can comment at all. (I can be quite picky with small issues).

At the back of Miina are two carrot rockets that are attached to her mini skirt. The colour blending looks really good.

Miina’s base comes in the form of a raised peg. One of the cons for this is that you won’t be able to stand her up without the base and it means more space will be taken up in your display cabinet. It may also invite the ever-so-popular leaning issue but I have faith in Alter’s quality and choice of material at the leg area. Finally, some pantsu shot for all your viewing pleasure.

Highlight of this figure: Carrot hammer! XD

There’s hardly any fault to find with Miina from Alter. With excellent quality and great overall presentation, I give her:

This is not the first time I decided to get a figure that I had previously dropped from my shopping list. Siesta is from the anime Zero no Tsukaima. One of the better reasons I wanted her so badly is because I couldn’t resist her moe look after looking at her released figure photo.

Siesta comes in a standing pose with her hands pushing outwards. But I can’t really understand the rational behind this pose. It’s kinda weird for anyone to have such pose

The two dots on her face brings out that sweetness and innocence in her looks. The mouth on the other hand, is a tad too small, even for an anime character. Paint job is excellent, if not perfect. Everything is how they should be.

Siesta is really soooo moeeeee. I can stare at her like this all day long.

I like this part somehow

Her base is just a typical green coloured plastic one. Nothing much to say. It’s just too simple.

Here comes the upskirt short. Her pantsu is green and it looks very sexy. It’s a shame I can only peek like this due to she is not cast-off-able (at least that’s what I think).

This is the shot I love the most. All in all, I really really couldn’t find much fault in Siesta at all. If there really is anything I don’t like, it will be the subpar paint job at the pantsu and the inner skirt area. Never-the-less, everything else about her is perfect!

It has been such long time since I gave any figure a Recommended tag already. So here it is, Siesta is

Sneak peek for the next review: A lady with semi transparent skirt ^^

The final installment of my Max Factory Suzumiya Haruhi figures before I move on to cover other figures (Edit: well, maybe not so final anymore after the new MF Mikuru is opened for pre-order -.-”). This time it’s Tsuruya-san, in the waitress dress during the anime’s annual school festival. This post was delayed quite a bit.

So let’s get her over with and then the next figure to feature shall be.. hint.. hint.. a Kimono girl! ^^

Tsuruya-san is one of the less-involved characters in the Melanchony of Suzumiya Haruhi anime series. I say less-involved as the series was more focused on the SOS-dan members, namely, Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru and Kyon.

Tsuruya-san straight out from the box!

One of my first impressions of Tsuruya-san is that she has got a big face. After I did some comparison, I think that her face is definately a little bit bigger than the other Max Factory Haruhi figures. But then, Max Factory’s 1/8 figures seems to scale bigger than the 1/8 figures from other makers. I had my Kotobukiya’s Belldandy and Tsuruya-san placed side by side, and can easily see the difference. The detail and quality for this figure is as good as the other Max Factory figures. The painting is consistant as well.

Tsuruya-san can be fitted with cat’s ears and tails.. Does she look moe? But personally, I prefer her in her regular waitress outfit. For me, the cat thingy just doesn’t seem right. Personal preference I guess ^^

As usual, Tsuruya-san comes with Haruhi-style base.

Some close-up shots of our moe Tsuruya-san, and of course.. Pantsu!! Quite nicely done I would say. I actually felt guilty when taking that shot. It’s as if I had become an upskirt shooter.

Highlight of this figure: What magnificent view and detail of her long hair. It looks so smooth and smilky.

Conclusion:
This is really a magnificent figure. I love her, especially for her hair. Overall, another highly recommended figure from me. I think I had recommended all of the Max Factory’s Haruhi line. But I stand by that stance. ^^

Asakura Ryouko is in the same league as Nagato Yuki, who are both aliens to come over to Earth to watch over Suzumiya Haruhi. She may look like a decent student from the outside, but if you watched the anime, you will know what I mean ^^

I think I do not need to elaborate further on the quality and detail for Max Factory’s Suzumiya Haruhi figure line. They are all just so well-made. There isn’t any clearly seen seam line or defect or anything. Painting is also nicely done. If there’s anything, it will be the posing is a bit on the plain side but it is compensated with a very delicate smile.

Ryouko actually had a changeable hand with the other one carrying a knife, which depicts her other personality in the anime. Unfortunately, at the time of photo taking, the accessory is in the figure box and I had kept it in the deeper part of my cabinet and was unable to take it out. (Can be seen from the promo photo in my photo album though.) Besides, school bag seems more proper for a girl in school uniform.

As with Mikuru, Ryouko also has only one foot attached to the base. With her pose, I don’t think it will give any problem.

Finally, this photo looks familiar in the cover of those typical school girl visual novels.. ^^

Conclusion:
Asakura Ryouko may not be the popular character in the anime, but I simply must get her to complete my collection. And I have no regrets getting her at all. At 4572 yen retail price, it scores high in the value-buy category.

The second part of my public-holiday-figure-shooting series is none other than the lovely Asahina Mikuru! Got her early this year from a restock. It was fortunate for me because she had long been sold out since her release in June 2007.

This Mikuru wear the battle-maid costume, as in the Haruhi-directed movie in the series and has a very cute pose. Her eyes are crystal clear and very seducing. The moe-ness in the series is well-captured and if she is to pose like that in front of me in real life, I think my heart will surely melt.

There isn’t any real issues with Mikuru. Quality and detail is excellent. Her skirt seems to be rather short at the back and you don’t really need to peep to see her pantsu

“In the name of meido, I shall zap you!” – Now where did I get this line from? ^^

She has the usual SOS-dan base and her foot is inserted into the peg. Her right foot is merely touching the base.

Highlights of this figure: There is a supposedly-star-shaped mole on her chest. But sorry I don’t think it’s visible from my photos ^^

Conclusion:
I personally think this Mikuru is much better than the upcoming one from Alter and the possible second Mikuru from Max Factory (photos above), simply due to she has more vibrant colour combination and this battle-maid suit is more unique since the normal maid dress is already present in Max Factory’s Tsuruya-san.

My long overdue project. Decided to use the 2 days public holiday to get as many figure shoots as possible. The first of those is none other than Haruhi! Got her during the fourth re-issue. It’s kinda amazing isn’t it? A single figure with four reissues and each one is selling like hot cakes. No wonder the producers are now gunning for a second season of the show. But let’s leave that for another post on another day

Meet Suzumiya Haruhi, leader of the SOS-dan! She sure looks very lively and energetic. Expected from someone who is ever so eager to meet aliens, time-travellers, etc.. haha..

Haruhi has one hand pointing out and one hand on the waist. Very bossy type of pose don’t you think? Colour and detail are good, very true to the character. The face is also good.

Haruhi: “You shall join my SOS club!”

Haruhi: “Oops.. no no.. you shall be my lead actor/actress instead!”

Ya, that’s right.. Haruhi comes in different hand and arm band. One depicts her in her club president post and another one as a movie director. Strangely, her armband is rather hard to remove as it was so tightly fitted into the lower arm part. I was having a hard time removing it.

She comes with a very Haruhi-ism type of base. With her name written there.

Finally, highlights of this figure: she’s Haruhi! (sound like a fanboy?)

Conclusion:
The thing about this figure is it’s so well-made and yet the price is cheap. She is priced at only around 3800 yen without shipping. Where else can you find such quality with such price? With such, she deserves a Prim3 Recommended tag. Long live Haruhi!

My first figure photo shooting after quite some time, due to my hectic traveling schedules. The subject for today is my Alter’s Kosmos figure which I bought in KL last two weeks. I had always wanted a Kosmos figure and now I have got two (The other one being the Kosmos v4). Kosmos is a very very popular character from the anime and game Xenosaga. I say very popular as her figure usually sold out quite fast in Japan. This figure was released way back in January 2006.

KOS-MOS stands slightly bending to her back side, carrying a gun in her right hand. Her hair is very dynamic, making it feels like the wind is blowing around her. The detail of her hair is good, with hair strands clearly seen.

The detail on KOS-MOS is good. All big and small details are well paid attention to. From the promo photos, I thought her hair will come in blue. But instead, it’s purple.

Here comes the close-up view of KOS-MOS using my macro lense. There are some irregularities here and there. But nothing major. There won’t be perfect figures for mass-manufactured figures. You can even see the word “KOS MOS” clearly on her forehead.

KOS-MOS comes with a square plain base. There are three pegs. One on her left foot and two on her right foot. Surprisingly, she can stand without the base. For her pose, I thought it would be otherwise.

Some random shot of KOS-MOS and of course, how can a figure go by without an accidental revealing of pantsu?? ^^

Highlight of this figure: Translucent hair!

Overall, as expected, this is a good figure from Alter. Had no complain of her so far. And she will be in my display cabinet for quite a long time.

Got my original Cocona some time ago and was pretty obsessed with her already. And now a pig-tailed and cast-off version? Had my breathing stopped as soon as I saw her. I wonder whether can get her from any online figure store?
