Tsukishiro Miina

Not much figures to report lately. The latest addition to my collection is none other than the main subject today, Tsukishiro Miina. Got mine from a local store and quite satisfied with her.

One of the main characteristics about her that caught my eyes was her sweet and innocent look.

Overall quality is pretty good. No flaws that I can comment at all. (I can be quite picky with small issues).

At the back of Miina are two carrot rockets that are attached to her mini skirt. The colour blending looks really good.

Miina’s base comes in the form of a raised peg. One of the cons for this is that you won’t be able to stand her up without the base and it means more space will be taken up in your display cabinet. It may also invite the ever-so-popular leaning issue but I have faith in Alter’s quality and choice of material at the leg area. Finally, some pantsu shot for all your viewing pleasure.

Highlight of this figure: Carrot hammer! XD

There’s hardly any fault to find with Miina from Alter. With excellent quality and great overall presentation, I give her:

Siesta

This is not the first time I decided to get a figure that I had previously dropped from my shopping list. Siesta is from the anime Zero no Tsukaima. One of the better reasons I wanted her so badly is because I couldn’t resist her moe look after looking at her released figure photo.

Siesta comes in a standing pose with her hands pushing outwards. But I can’t really understand the rational behind this pose. It’s kinda weird for anyone to have such pose

The two dots on her face brings out that sweetness and innocence in her looks. The mouth on the other hand, is a tad too small, even for an anime character. Paint job is excellent, if not perfect. Everything is how they should be.

Siesta is really soooo moeeeee. I can stare at her like this all day long.

I like this part somehow

Her base is just a typical green coloured plastic one. Nothing much to say. It’s just too simple.

Here comes the upskirt short. Her pantsu is green and it looks very sexy. It’s a shame I can only peek like this due to she is not cast-off-able (at least that’s what I think).

This is the shot I love the most. All in all, I really really couldn’t find much fault in Siesta at all. If there really is anything I don’t like, it will be the subpar paint job at the pantsu and the inner skirt area. Never-the-less, everything else about her is perfect!

News: Beat Blades Haruka figures from Volks

Apparently, another company has decided to join the fun in producing similarly posed Beat Blades Haruka figures. This time it’s Volks. Their Haruka and Narika figures, judging from the photos, look very much alike Alter/Kotobukiya ones. (With some difference of course). Personally, I like Haruka from Volks. Her face looks much better. And her hair part feels nicer than Alter’s, which looks a bit weird. As for Narika, I also feel this one is much better than Kotobukiya’s (me not much of a Narika fan). Anyway, I can only really judge after a proper photo of her is up.

News2: Ryuna Kotobukiya Ver

Shining Wind’s official figure blog brings to us the prototype uncoloured version of the upcoming Ryuna figure from Kotobukiya. I will prefer to look at the final coloured version before making any judgements. ^^

Preview: Xecty S.O.F.T Wave Ver

Another Shining Wind figure coming out soon in the market. This one features Xecty from Shining Wind. This figure will come in three form: Normal edition, Limited edition (same as normal edition but with an extra telephone card. Only usable in Japan) and a Miyazawa limited edition (with alternate pink colour). This Xecty has soft plastic body and cast-off-able. Also, she comes with two different heads. The Miyazawa limited edition shall only has 500 units produced. She shall be out in September 2008 at 5800 (Normal and Miyazawa Limited Edition) and 6800 yen (Limited Edition). Which one will you get? ^^

Verdict: Not sure. Maybe getting the Miyazawa Ver.

After Aegis and Mitsuru, Alter is coming out with Elizabeth: another character from Persona3. As much as I like Persona3, I am only interested in Aegis, Mitsuru and Yukari. This Elizabeth figure should be great for her fans. Details seems good. She will be out in October 2008 at 5800 yen.

Preview: Ayanami Rei Alter Ver

This Rei is supposedly the first figure from the Evangelion New Theatrical Version. Rei does look good in this figure. If there is any issues at all, will be her lying down pose, which may not satisfy every figure collector. For me, this is a must get for any Evangelion or Rei fans. She will be out in October 2008 at 5800 yen.

There are news and a prototype photo (just a back shot teaser) out in Shining Series Figure Blog on a possible Ryuna figure by Kotobukiya. From the website also, Ryuna seems to be the 9th of a 12-figure list. More Shining Wind figures coming?

There are just too many figures released today that caught my eyes. The second one is Tenkokuugen from FREEing. I had always associated FREEing with large scale 1/4 figures of Haruhi. Feel a bit weird seeing them with figures from other series. Anyway, this one look very decently done. Very nice colour mix. And that mask: nice! (maybe nice for me since I don’t know this series much). She will be out in September 2008 at 8800 yen. The steep price may drive many except her fans away.

Again, another of those figures that makes your heart itchy (or rather, your hands). If you would get Lala from Alpha Omega, you would not want to miss this to complete your set. This figure reminds me of Amane Misa from Death Note. Her fish biscuit looks very realistic! And on her book, you can clearly see the Chinese words so nicely written. Talk about details! Even her dress is nice! And the thing she is sitting on? Wicked! Konjiki no Yami will be out in September 2008 at 6300 yen.

Verdict: NOT SURE!
