Lack of updates? Ya I am well aware of that. Ever since my boss went on a long holiday and I had to cover him as regional manager, I didn’t even had the time for myself.
Anyway, Prim3 was fortunate enough to be invited to display his figures in the recent Kuching Gundams and Figures Exhibition on 20-24 August 2008. It was organized by the SAMS (Swimburne Anime and Manga Society) gang in the Spring, Kuching (East Malaysia
) While of course not as big as the KL guys’ one, this is certainly a good start for Kuching collectors. I like how the figures are well arranged in a acrylic translucent showcase where people can come around and look from all angles. (Maybe the TFM guys can learn from this
)
On the last day I was day, I can see the SAMS President falling asleep (photo below). Too tired already perhaps? XD Ok, here are all the photos I had XD Enjoy!

The Tokyo Wonder Festival is an annual event to display and sell “garage kits”, which are sculptures that usually replicate anime and game characters, but also often recreate popular mecha/sci-fi characters and creatures. These models are extremely detail oriented, and many of these sculptures appear in very small quantities due to the amateur nature of their reproduction. Unusually skilled artisans are promoted specifically during the “wonder showcase”, in which their works are given special attention and limited quantities of their masterpieces are sold for high prices to avid collectors. Many of the garage kits now sold at the Wonder Festival are oriented around female characters, often displayed in very exposing and often erotic positions. The market for these figures has spread overseas, and they have now become increasingly popular among collectors in many countries outside of Japan. (Source: Wikipedia)
Heisei Democracy has got a good coverage for the event. I regret I can’t make any coverage for it since I have no chance to go to Japan (yet!)
As I do not want to steal the wonderful photos from HD, I think I will just post the links here. So here are the figures that caught my eye:
